Cain F Lancero

Posted in Cigars, My Pics with tags , , , , , , , , , , on August 17, 2011 by matt

I wanted to first off thank Ian Hummel from Oliva for these, Ian will be on Stogie411 live Saturday, August 20th, at 1pm EST to talk to Mike and myself.  Bring your questions and we’ll make sure they get answered!

This shoot ended up being one of the most difficult shoots i’ve had nothing seemed to want to go right, outside of the burn on the cigar.  I will say for this being straight ligero the burn was great.   The Cain website defines the formula for the Cain F as 32% Esteli Ligero, 25% Condega Ligero, and 25% Jalapa Ligero. The pictures in this post are unedited outside of resizing up to the pictures of the cigar butt in the ashtray.  I decided to mess around with some of the pics and tacked those on at the end.

Grimalkin

Posted in Cigars, My Pics with tags , , , , , , , , on August 10, 2011 by matt

I first want to thank Gary Griffith for sending this to me this sample.  The Grimalkin is a limited release with quantity being based on harvest conditions.  The details on the blend of this cigar have been scant, but Gary informed me that this is a Nicaraguan puro and the full blend info will be disclosed when the new one is released.

I had trouble finding reviews for this cigar, let alone a review I agree with.  Overall this cigar just made me angry between a weak initial ash falling on my laptop and the cigar not wanting to stay lit, I gave up at the band.  Their main marketing seems to be that they received a great rating in Cigar Aficionado.  If you have a review of this cigar feel free to submit them to me.
